I will help you with your client's family system questions through case consultation. As Counselors you are not always trained in Family Systems. This is a major part of understanding how these families function. I can help you to use your theoretical lens in a family system way.

Counselor Countertransference
Countertransference can be common in the counseling relationship when a counselor has not been trained in
complex family systems in part because there is no standard by which these families come together and there
are many value and belief mixes about how they best work. This leaves the untrained therapist vulnerable to
relying on their own experience of complex families.
This is common in therapy and does not pose a problem if the therapist is aware of it and tries to prevent it from interfering with therapy. However, if a therapist is unaware of their countertransference and it affects their attunement toward a client, then it can be problematic and potentially harmful to treatment. I CAN HELP!
